Great location, beautiful characterful pub. Pity the chef is king of the freezer and deep fat fryer. Mediocre food at a mediocre price. bronxglenn - 5 Apr 2010 13:42 |
This pub, although owned by a chain is one of great character. The staff are friendly, the food is good value for money and tasty. I have stayed at the pub 3 times now and keep going back because the staff are so friendly. Keep up the good work!! darryl1980 - 12 Mar 2007 22:15 |
This pub has a great location, being right on the River Forth and almost directly under the famous Forth Rail Bridge...it has been there for quite some time, and in fact features in 'Kidnapped' by R.L. Stevenson...unfortunately some sort of chain has taken it over, and although still pleasant enough, it now lacks that very old and historical air it once had...seems to have been a function of remodelling and redocorating...a great pity, and the beer is only so-so now, with too much English imports (no offence).... alan w - 8 Dec 2004 03:55 |
