| all people having a moan about the pub! drink els where then. I love this pub me and my mates without fail come ere pre and post-match day at spurs. It gets very busy but credit to the quickness of the bar staff who always have a smile too. | Me and a mate went into this pub after going to the recent Spurs 0-1 Liverpool game as neutrals - we were literally only gonna have a couple of pints while the queue for the trains at White Hart Lane station died down - so were expecting to leave the pub for about 6pm - 5 hours later we were still there pissed as farts having had a great night - one of the best jukeboxes Iv ever heard,a friendly and quick service behind the bar - friendly punters - who even when we told them we were QPR fans didnt mind one bit and enjoyed a good laugh and banter,another rarity was there was a friendly bouncer in there ! - An excellent pub which I will definately visit again - cheers for a great night all concerned ! | The Coach and Horses is a very mixed bag of the pub; by no means the worse you could ever drink in but perhaps slightly closer to that end of the spectrum than you might hope for. The pub in general seems to be in a bit of a state of disrepair and the environment isn't the most conducive to a long stay. Selection of drinks is about par for the course but there do seem to be too many of the more watery American lagers on tap. Prices aren't too bad and barstaff and regulars all seem a friendly enough bunch. They stock the Irish "Tayto" brand crisps which is a welcome touch. The main room of the pub is fairly small but there is a fair sized beer garden which also houses a marquee which is a nice cool place to sit on a hot summers day if it's not too crowded. The marquee has an extra bar that is only ever used when Spurs are playing at home. The rest of the beer garden is a bit tatty but has extra seating. Entertainment is mainly background music and TV, but at least the music is quite good. Toilets are sadly grim. Not the busiest pub in the world unless Spurs are playing when it becomes something of an endurance event to drink in. Spurs memorabillia takes pride of place above the bar which is a nice touch for my fellow Spurs fans, although it's probably best enjoyed if you pop in on a non-match day. It's hard to be too harsh on this pub due to the people that run it and the welcoming regulars, but really it could be so much better that it's not somewhere I'd recommend. There are better pubs not too far away and if you're in the neighbourhood for a drink I suggest you try one of those instead. Mr.Monkfish - 29 Jul 2006 12:39 |
