There has been a lot of activity in the bar by workmen of late. also they have started taking down the 'new' front to reveal the original. it looks like it's opening back up again in the not too distant future..... e2skin - 25 Jul 2014 20:01 |

A great little east end boozer with a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. It’s definitely a cozy pub, sometimes feel like you’re in the way a bit if you’re not sat at a table, but great when you are at a table as they often offer to get your next drinks without even having to go to the bar. The only things really that could be improved are the cosmetic things it’s looking a bit tired in comparison to the other pubs in the same league along Bethnal Green Road (Well and Bucket is a good alternative), the exterior of the pub doesn’t represent the cozy feel inside, and the toilets are a bit dated and have quite a ‘humm’ about them, so you wouldn’t want to sit on the tables near them! Well worth a visit if you’re in the area. As for the 'Hipster' comment a) I don't think it is over £4 a pint in there, and b) I don't think anyone thinks it's 'cool' to pay that much, its just they'd pay a premium rather than drink in the other less welcoming pubs at that end of Bethnal Green Road JB83 - 17 May 2013 09:53 |
