The owners seem to be trying to find a buyer for this pub, which I understand is intact and almost ready to trade again. DoctorRadio - 23 Feb 2006 15:53 |
I was in Hull last year, and the Pub was open & had a great time. Sadly this time I was in town it had again been closed and is boarded up as is the one next door. anonymous - 20 Nov 2005 20:14 |
The Ear de Grey was fully refurbished and reopened again in 2004. Traffic noise is horrendous, the clientelle are completely changed but the beer is good. Seems to be a managed hoiuse now (?) - the staff a bit disinterested. DoctorRadio - 21 Apr 2005 12:07 |
Sadly this pub has closed down, in its heyday you could walk into any bar from adelaide to Zanzibar , mention the Port of Hull and someone would tell you that they had been in, or heard of the Earl de Gray! Renowned for a couple of parakeets behind the bar that would swear in several languages, the demise of this city pub marked the end of the road for traditional pubs every where. harlequin - 23 Mar 2005 06:15 |
