| rolled up on a late sesh - never really took the place in but remember it being very busy - ok. If you want a decent beer in Paris head off to L'Express de Lyon on the Rue de Lyon near the Gare du Lyon...cracking beer. kernott1 - 14 Feb 2015 14:38 |
| Visited on 20th November - place was empty(ish) but had enjoyable steak & chips lunch and a sampler containing their 4 current brews in 150ml glasses - handy if you want to try all the beers and come out reasonably sober. Regarding "steppedup" comment of 16/7 yes they did seem to be placing dining customers at the back of the venue, but on this visit because the place was so empty they offered a choice of seats. On the way out I noticed tables in a set-in bay for drinkers and smokers. Beers were better than average, and BLONDE was by far the best of the 4 on. Couldn't spend an entire evening here either, but nice to spend an hour or so over a meal and some beers. lad_newton - 5 Dec 2011 01:22 |
| This used to be more of a pub than a restaurant. Since the smoking ban it has, through necessity, become more of a restaurant. Snacky, brasserie fayre. Beers are better than the standard French lagers. Don't bother if you want to linger over a drink. When you near the door, aggressive meet and greet staff lead you to a table over which you have no choice. Like a bad Chinese restaurant or a car ferry they start filling the space from the back so you can expect to be stuck next to another full table even if the place is empty.
