Perfect countryside pub (complete with the countryside view) offering delicious home-made food and refreshing ales all served by polite and welcoming staff. When the sun is shining you truly can't ask for a better traditional pub to be served an ice cool beer! So pleased I found this place and I really would recommend it to anyone. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Cheers! lg575 - 8 Aug 2011 20:18 |
Stumbled accross the 'New Inn', whilst staying at Pitland Farm. Along with our golden retriever, we were warmly welcomed by the licencees, who, as well as the locals, were extremely friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed the real ales, that I felt were kept in very good condition, and tempted us back on several occasions. Will definitely return, and wish 'mine hosts', all the very best for the future. NeilnJan - 18 Dec 2009 13:09 |
I stumbled on this pleasant surprise and potential jewel in the Worecstershire countryside, purely by accident! As "Countryman" said, a warm welcome from the new incumbants of this pub with arguably the best views from its elevated position (even when its raining I imagine!) anywhere in the country. The beer (I tried a couple from the Wye Valley brewery) was excellent and the landlord was extremely knowledgable and helpful in choosing my tipple... without a fuss I might add. It would appear that those locals (a friendly bunch from all walks of life), who preferd keg beers/lagers or ciders were more than impressed with the quality of what was on offer. The place was clean and had character with a something for everyone atmospere. Although food was not available I was assured that the dining area is to be put to good use in the not too distant future. I can assure the team at The New Inn that we will be back to sample their fare. Great to see that an English pub still exists today, its what it is and pretends to be nothing more. Good luck to them I say! pete01 - 19 Jul 2009 14:58 |
I understand that this pub has had an uncertain few months, but has now re-opened with a young new team. Certainly I was warmly welcomed, and the beer was in perfect condition for a hot sunny lunchtime! The beer-garden has fantastic views over miles and miles of country, and the whole place looks clean and tidy. The locals are friendly, and the general atmosphere was relaxed. At a time when so many pubs are closing it is good to see that some landlords are willing and able to take on a new venture. I wish them every success!
