| I took the bus (1/1a/2) out from St.Helier to have another look at The Pembroke - its' a good boozer with a smarter lounge bar. The main drinking area is plsit into a bar and a games room with pool table; TV and by the looks of the equipment - regular music events. They have a patio area for kids; a car park and a open fire in winter. Beers available were Cocky Blonde from Jennings and Spitfire and I was told by the cheery landlady that the locals pick the guest ales from a brewery list and that they change on a regular basis. | Had a couple of pints of Betty Scoggs whilst waiting for the restaurant to open where I had an excellent steak. 2 hand pumps on offer both from England (Spitfire was the other). Shame there was no Jersey ale on but Betty was very good. Quite busy for early evening and locals seemed friendly enough. nidger50 - 10 Apr 2014 19:35 |
| Following an interesting encounter with a rather confused barmaid in the Seymour Arms down the road who was trying to serve us 3 pints of Martini Rosso & soda, we escaped still sober enough to continue our crawl around the island and arrived at the Pembroke. Whilst without the coastal views of the Seymour, the Pembroke felt more like a proper pub. Ringwood Best & Wells Bombardier were the beers on offer. The main bar was rather dark. But the other room featuring a pool table was much lighter. The Charity Shield football was being shown on TVs in both rooms. The locals seemed fairly friendly. blue_scrumpy - 9 Aug 2011 19:24 |
| Haven't been in The Pembroke for ages so can't really comment but I would recommend The Seymour Inn just down the coast road at Seymour Slip. Excellent Liberation Ales and good snacks and meals. Patio at the side and garden at the rear. handy for the buses (No. 1 and Explorer routes).
