This place was closed during our first visit to St Helier earlier in the day. We travelled back across the island, as we suspected it opened later in the afternoon. Sure enough, we did find it open. The tilework on the floor as you enter is impressive. The fact it has 5 handpulls with no ales is less than impressive. Certainly not worth driving across the island for. By the way, I can recommend the Post Horn in St Helier. It's not listed on here, but is not too far away and stocks a decent range of ales and cider. blue_scrumpy - 9 Aug 2011 19:40 |
Appears to be open again but the presence of a pool table put me off - the real ales also seem to have gone! Looks like it has changed its style and clientele!! mcroyal - 26 May 2011 12:42 |
Looked very closed when I passed by last Tuesday - although the beer fonts were still on the bar and all the furniture was still there. Maybe it only opens in the evenings or at weekends now?? Anybody known anything about it? mcroyal - 7 Jul 2010 15:03 |
Returned after a gap of a few months. Pub still more or less the same but beer selection not half as good - only Courage Directors which tasted a bit wobbly. Where have all the other beers gone? The pub was very smokey too. GrahamA - 27 Sep 2006 12:06 |
Still as good as it was last time. GrahamA - 2 May 2006 09:51 |
