Spacious London pub: nice and airy interior with clean lines and no "faux bohemian" junk like in some of the other neighbourhood pubs. Very good range of ales: about 6 or 7 and in good condition and served in dimpled mugs. Prices pretty high: about £3.95 in September 2014 for a session ale. Simple pub-classic food but freshly cooked and tasty. Worth a visit if in the area. JonRambo - 23 Sep 2014 12:37 |
Pleasant pub - found myself in Lambeth by accident but popped in here to find friendly community pub with Windsor & Eton beers and few others (Marstons, etc). Stripped down inside (the pub not me) and light and airy with wraparound bar in the middle. Staff friendly. Definitely worth a visit. mikey64 - 31 May 2013 19:08 |
This is a massive improvement on the disaster it replaced. It has an excellent range of real ale that is well kept and rattles up an excellent, good value Sunday roast. It can get crowded as is already popular but much needed in this part of Kennington. If you can ignore the chattering family groups of the Middle class SE11 intelligentsia that pollute sections of this establishment then this is well worth a visit. brenhell - 12 Apr 2013 22:48 |
I absolutely love this pub since its refurb. Wonderfully friendly staff and a decent ale - and anywhere with Sambrooks on wins my vote! There has been, in my opinion, a dearth of decent pubs in the local area that slide between the pretentious (Grand Union, Three Stags) and the grotty (Dog House on a bad day), so The Ship is a breath of fresh air! dhalliford - 8 Jan 2013 22:41 |
Just re-opened after a refurbishment. Watch your wallet as pints of ale here are an eye watering 3.65/75 a pint!! Miles007 - 4 Aug 2011 10:39 |
