Can't believe the previous comment, we have always had a friendly welcome from Hector and all his staff. We have NEVER had a bad meal. We would highly recommend Sunday 3 course dinner here - always beautiful soup, then a Roast, either beef or pork usually, the meat just melts in your mouth, then a good choice of puddings, good helpings, good value, and in nice relaxed surroundings. golspie10 - 11 Jul 2010 20:24 |
We went to the Pittentrail Hotel on the strength of the previous review (albeit 5 years old) We were so disappointed. The food was awful. The fish was so bad my husband couldn't eat it. When he complained, the waitress argued that it was fresh that morning. No apology. Meanwhile, the owner wandered through the bar, yawning without covering his mouth. I know pubs can be casual, but he was wearing an old tee shirt with holes in it - not very professional, but apt for the place. No apology, terrible service, awful food. Only one word can sum up The Pittentrail Inn and that is amazing! The beer is ice cold, the selection of malts is huge and the food is exellent.I could not believe how lucky i was to come across the place last summer while touring the highlands. The village of Rogart is very small but i was blowen away by the super friendly locals, staff and customers from around the world (English,French,Dutch,Australian and Canadian).I had a wonderful evening that lasted well into the wee hours and cant wait to go back hopefully this summer.A must if you are up in that wonderful area of Scotland. anonymous - 29 Apr 2005 22:16 |
