The Black Bull has went through a few managerial changes in the last couple of years, but it remains a nice pub, with a good atmosphere. The main bar is big enough to not be uncomfortable when it's busy, with good service the norm. I've had the food on a couple of occasions and it is fine, if a bit underwhelming. The snug bar is tiny, and absolutely lovely - pictures and poems in tribute to past locals adorn the walls. There is a surprisingly big beer garden located at the back of the pub, which is accessed through the function suite. Reginald_Molehusband - 21 Apr 2012 20:04 |
This is a great pub, excellent food, superb selection of beers, wines and spirits and the staff are really top notch too, especially Jimmy who is a true legend. Do yourself a favour and drop in........you will love it jasamac - 22 Dec 2010 18:16 |
This is a great pub, good beer, excellent food and friendly service. The mixed grill was cooked to perfection - you could tell that it had been cooked there and then and not kept warm and dehydrated under hot lamps. We got a 5 voucher to use on our next visit (which we did) which made it even better value! Zaphod_Beeblebrox - 18 Feb 2007 01:09 |
Any pub selling Caledonian Ales is worth a visit in my book. It has a homely warm atmosphere and I found the clientel and staff very freindly. ianw - 24 Nov 2006 22:15 |
