This place looked more like a retirement home than a pub. But you'll get a friendly welcome. The largest room is a restaurant. But the other is a public bar and had quite a few young locals in watching the Open golf. Doom Bar was the real ale. Not too far from Guernsey Candles in the centre of the island, it's a 5-10 minute stroll from the nearest bus stop. blue_scrumpy - 21 Jul 2014 20:16 |
Seems to operate as a restaurant with a very small public bar selling OK Old Speckled Hen. mtaylor40 - 7 Jul 2013 22:03 |
Pub still going despite refurbishment although it rather seems like its only kept running for the benefit of a few regulars. One hand pump but it hasn't been in use the last few times I visited. Pool table and the food in the restaurant is good (Italian). tanglewood - 3 Nov 2006 20:59 |
With refurbishment has come a new name "Oliver's". It's just not the same. mikeandjack - 13 Jun 2006 13:11 |
This pub has recently referbished, and now looks and feels like a resteraunt that happens to have a pub tagged onto it. Real ale is served, but the only pumps are in the resteraunt side. The prices are relativly cheap for Guernsey though. There is a wide screen TV and a pool table. There is ample parking here. BenFairbairn - 17 Aug 2005 17:27 |
