This place is great! Was our favourite haunt when we went to Berlin earlier this year. Really friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Really quiet in the day if you want some brekkie or lunch and really buzzing in the evening. hint - in the evening if you need a pick me up, go out of the bar and take a right, then another right straight away up some stairs. Looks intimidating but someone will greet you. adamtoll919 - 3 Jun 2008 15:12 |
Desribed as a "legendary squat-turned-cultural centre" Cafe Zapata aims to please and surprise in equal measure. Under some clandestine condition of tenancy the owners have to rotate the art and the walls, allow resident poets to read their works and put on (if Thom Revolver are anything to go by)outrageos Dutch bands to entertain the punters. Being part of the Berlin tourist pub crawl means it gets routinely packed for about an hour every night, but don't let this put you off. Worth going if only to see the scrap heap challenge-esque dragon breathing fire from atop the bar. Good for: A spectacle. James - [email protected] - 17 Nov 2004 14:12 |
