Popped in on a Wednesday night and quite busy with the running club post workout drink. Comfortable place and good beer. Triple FFF - Alton Pride and Timothy Taylor - Landlord on my visit. Bar staff very friendly. Beer_Spotter - 21 Mar 2012 00:10 |

Visited here on a quiet lunchtime in January. Beer very good with a fine range. Food excellent - good value for money. Barman was extremely attentive - served us at our table not just for food but for drinks as well. Outside was bleak but inside was conviviality itself. They didn't even comment on our muddy boots. ramblethenlunch - 4 Feb 2011 16:16 |
Me and my wife have promised to ourselves to never set foot in this place few years back but after listening to recommendations from our friends we've decided to give the horse & groom another chance and we are very pleased that we did. We had a very enjoyable evening indeed. Food was brilliant, very well cooked and service was friendly and welcoming. We will be back soon! caracas - 28 Nov 2010 00:28 |
Came here with the father in law and wife for a meal and some beers. Truly fabulous value food, decent prices and very tasty indeed. Not too fancy ingredients but very well cooked, got the feeling there is a creative chef back there. Beer was good too - nice couple of ales on offer. The place wasn't packed but it was busy and there was good atmosphere. The Horse and Groom is certainly on better form these days. hibit - 7 Nov 2010 15:23 |
