| This was the first pub I ever went into, at the age of about 10, in 1962. The landlord was Tom Craig, and his lad Michael was my best mate at junior school. We used to take the loose change that was collected by the school bank every Thursday and swap it at the pub for notes that our teacher Miss Craven could then bank. We did this in school time, and Tom would give us a drink. Mine was always a blackcurrant and lemonade.
