Since we stumbled on this pub it has become a firm favourite on our lunch rota. Three real ales (Banks' Mild, Banks' Bitter and a guest ale) always in good or better condition and excellent value at less than 2.10 a pint. The carvery is not quite up to Crown Carvery and Toby Carvery standard and only two slices of meat are given but it is still a good lunch portion for 2.95. The decor is fairly nondescript but the staff are friendly. Given its location - at the edge of the shopping area, near to a large pay and display car park and on three bus routes we continue to be surprised that it is not much more popular. Good family run pub. Gerry, Jane & Rachel (chef) nice people. Well kept beers. Daily carvery 2.95 in week looks very good but haven't tried it, and a well priced menu besides. Entertainment every night which I have experienced and enjoyed immensely. Lot of live acts as well as karaoke. Recommend a visit. ebateman - 1 May 2009 00:07 |
Find this place acceptable but a little bit plastic. Carvery looks nice, decent beers not bad people but lacks atmosphere. carolbate - 26 Jan 2008 16:33 |
This Pub Has everything you could ever want, Food, Live Entertainment, Good atmosphere and of course the most important good beers. This pub has live entertainment on friday & saturday nights also alternate sunday and thursdays. The pub has a carvery every every day of the week (3.95). Aswell as traditional pub meals. They have Excellent lagers aswell as guest ales and this week between 16th-24th oct they have got a beer festival on so all i can really say is, come on round and give it a try you really dont know what your missing. russell - [email protected] - 18 Oct 2004 11:07 |
