It's just had a major makeover, and is now completely different to the old pub - it's very stylish, and has a nice, comfortable feel to it. Not somewhere that's going to win any CAMRA awards - go to the nearby Mermaid or Blacksmith's Arms for a good selection of real ales - but definitely a good place to meet up with people. It does food but I didn't try any of it. Beerintheevening people: it no longer has a pool table. Can't remember seeing a TV but I'll leave that for somebody else to confirm. And they still have outside seating. boneym - 16 Mar 2016 13:16 |
Had had several new tenants recently and seem to have given up on the music. Usually empty when I drive past and only a matter of time before it becomes flats. GaryB007 - 27 Aug 2015 20:46 |
great pub, weird but lovely locals, they all seem to know each other very well . That's what a pub's about innit. No real ale but the mix in there is unique. young , old , male, female. Strange place , not everyone's cuppa tea but loved it when in St Albans. Yep, I'm sure characters beyond belief in there, it's a throwback! Nice staff too. stevenr - 15 Jul 2013 00:39 |
Definitely open again. The new landlord is making a good effort with regular music at the weekends, but there's a LOT of local competition, so only time will tell if they can survive. GaryB007 - 1 Apr 2013 13:11 |
