| Great pub, fabulous atmosphere, extensive and quality selection of real ales and truly outstanding food served in timeless and well presented style. Well worth going out of your way to visit this pub, in my opinion, it's by some way the best pub in this part of Essex and amongst the best I've visited in the UK to be honest. | Full of charecter with about 6 different rooms and a small garden at the back..5 beers on I settled for Norfolk Wherrys Nelsons Revenge a bit expensive at 320p a pint.. Other beers were Maldon Gold (a local beer) and Adnams. Had a walk along the sea wall after with the dogs which were allowed in the bars. Will return. hogshead - 18 Aug 2011 12:19 |

| My brother who lives close by took me here last weekend. I asked if he could suggest somewhere with 'proper beer and a bit of character'. Look no further! This is a great pub. Shame I had the car.
