| A pub run by the staff, for the staff, who seem to outnumber the customers, but are too intent on watching music videos on the blaring TVs to actually serve anyone. A pale shadow of what this pub used to be like, it's gone from a 'proper' local with decent beer and a friendly atmosphere to a largely deserted pseudo-sports-bar that seems to attract just a few die-hards and the odd steaming ned (who seeks to resolve the ongoing customer service issues in his or her own, usually very 'direct', fashion). | This pub, like many, is gradually banning smoking through out the entire public house. They Started with the conservatory. Then it was the conservatory and bar. Now it's the conservatory, bar and the entire lounge until nine PM. How long before it's the public bar too? There is going to be a, "sit down and light up", protest at this bar today, 13/9/04, (the starting date of the ban). Many loyal and long standing patrons are being treated like lepers. Why? Because they happen to smoke. Forget the fact that they spend on average +�5000 a year in this establishment. Forget the fact that they are loyal patrons and have been for years. Wanna join the protest? Come along and light up! :) BTW I am a non smoker. I support them and feel it is bang out of order that loyal patrons of this establishment are being treated in this way.
