| It was freezing outside so when we popped into the Packhorse it was a lovely suprise. What a cosy place with a huge roaring log fire and a great atmosphere too. | I popped in last week for a very quick beer. Unfortunately, I didn't notice the Real Ale pumps and ended up with a pint of indifferent Guinness. The atmosphere was good though, with a number of locals enjoying a drink and the landlady was very friendly. I might give it another chance when I'm next in the area. fridge - 18 Apr 2010 16:10 |
| I have stayed here while on business in the area for many years, it is situated on the edge of Dartmoor in picturesque village centre with a nearby nature walk and within easy reach of many interesting sites. The Pub itself is a very old building with loads of character, a huge open log fire, great food and beer, friendly owners and staff and I always enjoy staying there. The rooms are priced at the right level for the facilities and standard, I have always slept comfortably here, and all rooms are en suite (clean facilities) and have kettle and TV. | I also disagree with the comment from "ncurling", i found the the place to be very friendly, well presented, and very tidy! The staff had a very cheerie nature, and the food was very good. I would definatly stay at the Pack horse again. Slicky - 7 Mar 2009 20:15 |
