Really nicy, cosy little place - made so by the owner, his staff anf the friendly customers. Don't come this way much so not tried the food but it certainly smells good. A range of 4 real ales - all on top form. THATOLDMAN - 10 Jan 2012 13:02 |
Smashing little boozer very much in the traditional style. Good range of beers (the HSB is very palatable) and a tempting lunchtime menu. I love the place. REVERENDBAZ - 9 Aug 2011 08:03 |
Probably the best pub in the area. Cosy, friendly and, as it's a freehouse, a great selection of reasonably priced drinks. Including Crabbies. I like. asasin - 8 Apr 2010 18:43 |
Well, I've tried the salt beef lunch. The beef was good, the gravy possibly the richest I've ever had, but then we come to, what I assume, were the vegetables. Not sure I have the vocabulary to describe them. How many days had they been cooking? Is it possible something can be so bad as to be good? A conundrum indeed. Anyway still an amazingly cosy pub. Perhaps I should try the bacon pie ... vikingjoe - 1 Sep 2009 08:39 |
