Considering this is a 'housing-estate' pub in Crawley I was really pleasantly suprised. The building it is housed in is an attractive old farmhouse, the interior is pleasantly laid out and comfortable. The bar staff were ok if not overtly friendly. They also had three Sussex brews on, which was very encouraging; Harveys of course, but also Arundel Old Ale, which I had a pint of and it was very good, and Franklins Mild. I didn't eat there so can't comment on the food, but overall it is a place I would re-visit with no problem. happy_wanderer - 23 Nov 2011 13:22 |
Well credit where credits due, the actual service has really improved and there doesn't seem to be as many out of control kids! Plus there are some really fit staff working there! Both boys and, if you're inclined that way, girls as well;-) Hongkongboy - 24 Jun 2011 19:26 |
Again, the problem with this pub is it can't cope with a busy Sunday lunchtime and either doesn't want to or can't be bothered to control the children! It's like a crche at times. If you want a quiet lunch...without a screaming accompaniment then AVOID this place until the staff start enforcing basic pub rules! Hongkongboy - 20 Apr 2011 11:48 |
Met a friend here for lunch. I was so glad it wasn't half term as it was bad enough getting around the mothers with buggies in the restaurant. There are signs asking parents to keep their children under control but you can't stop young babies screaming whilst you are downing your wine I guess. All that being said I would go back as the staff were nice and the food was good. Very reasonable prices and I picked up a diamond card, which gives a discount to those over 50. With a little cooperation from young parents this could be a great place to go. sackvillemum - 27 Feb 2011 15:28 |
Lovely food and good service. However, kids running about everywhere, often loitering at the bar! No local real ales, says free house, but obviously not. creepycrawley - 20 Feb 2011 20:25 |
