Didn't notice the smell and didn't eat; the pub remains a cosy, attractive local with well-kept beers. mtaylor40 - 23 Mar 2012 21:32 |
This is a nice pub thats spoilt by the smell from the gents. We have visited about 4 or 5 times and providing you sit away from the toilets it,s ok. The beer selection has been very good, Adnams Broadside, Timothy Taylor, Nelsons Revenge, Woodefordes Nog to name a few. Quality was also good on all my pints but I did see someone take his Harwich brewery beer back because it was cloudy. Beerwise this is a dear pub, the cheapest pint I had was 3.00 (half of Stella 1.75) These are London prices. The food was good (and cheap) Cod + Chips 4.99. Steak 5.99. Most other meals were about 7/9.00. Nice garden for kids and fancy seating. Friendly staff. Dogs allowed. Would have got a higher rating if not for that smell! proost - 5 Sep 2010 14:50 |
This pub is a travesty from what it used to be. The toilets stink and the smell comes in to the bar area. Sort it out. Gallen - 16 Feb 2009 15:35 |
Unfortunately I have to agree with the last correspondent. Our group of 5 waited 40 minutes for food in this mostly empty pub. When it came, it was not hot, and of very average qualty for the price. Another group (of 3) complained about their 45min wait, and were told it was because they were busy! Millipede - 16 Aug 2008 21:49 |
This pub has gone downhill recently. The beer and other drinks are expensive, the beer range has been reduced. The food's not as good as it used to be either. drinker999 - 10 Dec 2007 19:00 |
