This large and popular rural pub has a rambling interior with a number of large rooms. One is primarily a dining area and another has a couple of pool tables. There is a garden at the rear with climbing frames. Fullers London Pride is the regular ale. The guest yesterday was Weltons Horsham Pale. They also had Cornish Orchards Farmhouse Cider, which I was not expecting. Clearly aimed at families and diners, it has a holiday camp feel. You can actually camp or pitch your caravan at the rear. blue_scrumpy - 27 Mar 2017 19:19 |
Hmm odd pub. Good food but a bit pricey for what it is. Could do with dropping prices, more marketing to get people in to help with adding atmosphere and replacing some of their pool equipment. Friendly staff on the whole although feel sometimes get ignored in favour of regulars. I guess its more to serve the caravan business than the local community. Although they do sponsor some football teams I believe which means Sunday lunch time if often busy with them. Mad_Moo - 10 May 2007 14:43 |
No pitch and putt - Just a shabby driving range. More an old mans pub. Very expensive for beer and soft drinks alike (2.20 for a pint of lemondade !! ) andoverman - 8 Feb 2006 16:10 |
This is a big food orientated country pub with pitch 'n putt and a caravan site in the extensive grounds. Popular local eatery for firms on the nearest industrial estate. Normally has a couple of real ales, often Exmoor brands, on offer from the (small) bar. Not the sort of place where you stand at the bar having blokish chats. Plenty of parking.
