| It wasn't until I sat in the beer garden last Friday looking across the water that I remembered I had been here before in September 2011. On that occasion, I had been too ill to drink anything alcoholic but this time, after a morning at NWT Hickling Broad, I was more than ready for a goat's cheese & beetroot sandwich and a pint of Lacon's Encore which was better than average. | Quite possibly one of the nicest setting for a pub on the broads. However the fairytale stops there. If anyone could arse up a good pub then here's a fine example. Poor beer, surly staff, canteen restaurant, inflated prices, filthy dirty (inside and out in the garden). This place is a disgrace and unless you enjoy being ripped off for substandard food, I really shouldn't bother going. Its indicative that all the visiting boats moored up are occupied by their owners drinking their own beer and wine, not using the pub.
