NOW CALLED 'THE INN AT BROMYARD'. One of the pubs that is still open in this town. Bustling and busy on walking in (unlike some others) and immediately welcomed - understandably they couldn't offer us a table to dine straight away, but found us space in less time than they estimated. Enthusiastic, helpful and friendly staff with well-kept range of beers from Wye Valley Brewery. Good selection on menu, including vegetarian options at reasonable prices. Sue and her team are clearly making a success of this pub - recommended. Mike_Oxford - 24 Jul 2018 13:14 |
This pub looks quite attractive from the outside. But the interior is fairly bland and it was fairly boisterous on our visit, with most people watching football on the 2 TVs at either end of the pub. The beer range was fairly uninspiring - Marstons Pedigree, Greene King IPA & Sharps Doom Bar. We supped up quickly and headed to the far superior Queen's Arms (not listed on here) across the road, which had a much better selection of ales (4) and also a cider and a perry. After writing this, I've just noticed I've mirrored the previous reviewer's comments. I promise I didn't plagiarise it! We both seemed to have told it the way it is! blue_scrumpy - 7 May 2012 11:31 |
A very attractive pub from the outside, although the interior doesn't really live up to the promise. I was disappointed to go in and order a pint, then try to order food, only to be told the kitchen was closed that day because of a flood. Surely they could have put up a sign outside saying "No food today". Having said that, I'd still give it a try if I was in the area again. There are public car parks within 200 yards, so it can't really be said that parking is a problem. Heatonian - 18 Sep 2010 16:36 |
Yes the carpark is at the rear but almost impossible to find, Little Hereford Street being very narrow and half the car park being developed.Bromyard roads are 1 hour waitng. That said I agree that the Bay is a fine pub with good beer and food.Well worth a visit if in the area. Dont let the green wellies fool you. bee578 - 2 Jan 2009 15:06 |
Good beer, friendly staff, superb food. Haven't noticed any stockbrokers but a few agricultural characters known to frequent the place. Car park is round the back, rarely had a problem finding a space. snaprails - 31 Dec 2008 17:28 |
