The Hind was the first of 4 pubs in or around Whiston that we visited. It's a large, roadside Ember Inns establishment and the interior was fairly typical of this chain. Ales were Black Sheep Ember Pale Ale, Abbeydale Moonshine, Kirkstall Yorkshire Dales Pale, Bru Stout & Thwaites Wainwright. It was reasonably busy on our early Sunday evening visit. blue_scrumpy - 2 May 2018 07:43 |
the Hind is a modern looking pub. sat on the A631 west bawtry road [rotherham south bypass]. It is part of the Mitchell & Butler "ember inns" chain. There is an adequate car park. *** it is basically open plan, but with 2 or three seating areas. very modern but also very comfortable, with plush seating, alcoves, etc. very stylish. ember inns also make a point of offering good ale, and there were a few casks on offer. I usually go for the speckled hen. I understand food is available, but I have not tried it as we usually dine at the Brecks when over here. *** verdict: Quite impressive. smart and stylish. Seems to be popular. cask ales are always good. reynard - 29 Aug 2008 13:20 |
Typical Ember Inn, very decent beer (Hole-Hearted), not realy to my taste given restrictive entry policy. Village of Whiston down the hill has cracking pubs (or did). mtaylor40 - 19 Feb 2008 20:35 |
big pub in a grotty bit of Rotherham - probably not the worst pub round here by a long way though. TheGP - 31 Dec 2005 10:19 |
