Marston's pub in the main pedestrianized shopping area of the High Street in Bromsgrove. It was fairly quiet, as all of the shops had shut on our early Sunday evening visit, apart from a bookmakers. The regular beers are Banks's Mild & Bitter. Guests were Marston's 61 Deep & Old Empire, Ringwood Boon Doggle & Brakspear Oxford Gold. No real cider is available. There is a small outdoor courtyard at the rear. blue_scrumpy - 20 Aug 2019 21:29 |
Came simply because it is in the top 10 in worcestershire on this site. Busy at lunch. Bar man knew everyone by name. Decent pint of Ringwood FortyNiner. Proper pub. Mappiman - 14 Dec 2013 14:47 |
Decent beers, was packed when we called in. They had a band on, which given the size of the place seems pretty ambitious, but the band were good and clearly popular. Struggled to get served though, only one or two people behind the bar all night and one of those seemed to always serve the newest person to the bar. DudleyC - 1 Jan 2013 12:27 |
A group of us decided to try the Red Lion this saturday, im so glad we did. what a fantastic night it was very busy and everyone enjoyed the music , a great selection of songs from the resident DJ which kept everyone singing all night. the beer was good and the staff friendly. Great pub will be using every weekend from now on. kudu123 - 23 Sep 2012 23:26 |
Like the beers on tap here, always a decent selection well served. Atmosphere less so, the music/radio they've had on the last two times was too loud for my taste (and pretty awful to boot). When you can't talk over it there is no fun in staying. Garden/outside area is okay though so this has become a fair weather only pub for me now. DudleyC - 19 Apr 2012 10:02 |
