More of a restaurant than a pub and housed in a glorious mock tudor building, this is decent enough in a happy families way. The food is good barring a very odd apple parfait of a dessert and drinks are from the local Wells brewery and well kept. BoehmBawerk - 22 Mar 2015 07:57 |
The main strengths are its location overlooking the Great Ouse, with a patio drinking area and plenty of space inside. Some guest beers occasionally from Bateman's and busy, despite the cost. Arctium_lappa - 24 Feb 2013 23:14 |
In a great spot overlooking the river, so it must be a popular spot in the summer. Had a decent enough pint of Bombardier, but it's far too upmarket for me... rpadam - 29 Jan 2010 21:04 |
Visited a couple of days ago. Really outstanding food, service and atmosphere. The refurbishment is little short of incredible compared to the dowdy, tired old place this used to be. Admittedly, it is on the pricey side but since the food is so good is does represent good value. So perhaps a place for a special occasion. All the usual Wells Youngs beers on tap and well kept too. Highly recommended. emcg - 26 Oct 2009 08:51 |
