| An excellent pub for a birthday celebration. The host and hostess were charming and the menu was varied and exciting. The interior and exterior of the building have both been enhanced by the new landlords to ensure a comfortable , attractive eating place with a welcoming garden. | Stumbled upon this by accident last Sunday. Quite possibly one of the finest roast dinners I have ever had in my life. Excellent quality of beef (Sirloin), good selection of veg, fantastic golden crunchy roast potatoes and very, very good gravy. Puddings were of a good standard if basic but with homemade custard you can forgive this. According to the waitress, her and her partner have recently taken over the establishment and are really trying to get everything right, everything homemade and of decent quality. | I was delighted to find that the Plough has improved dramatically from a year ago. It has been taken over by a great couple who know what they are doing! They have only been there for about 5 months and have a hard job to encourage people to return after it was run into the ground. Such a warm welcome, roaring fire and a great atmosphere. We only popped in for a light meal but were enticed by the great selection of home cooked dishes which were superb and all I can say is that we will be back and will spread the word that there is finally a pub that sells excellent food at a good price.
