This pub used to be run by my relatives in the Truman's days so I have found memories of the place. It has changed considerably and not necessarily for the better. However, I found the beer range to be good - I had the Landlord which was in very good condition. The staff were friendly and efficient and the food was good. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again but overall a reasonable pub for the area. Sussexcrawler - 13 Jul 2016 07:59 |
Dropped in here when passing on Friday afternoon. It had a nice and relaxed atmosphere, was clean and open and had a pool table. They had a good range of ales and I had a well kept pint of Butcombe Bitter SuperNev - 21 Nov 2011 10:46 |
A nice friendly pub. Nice food, and a good range of drinks. Slightly pricey, but acceptable for the area. The barstaff are friendly, and there is a pool table and TV screens. I would certainly suggest visiting, especially a weekday evening, although it can get slighlty busy at times. Certainly the best pub in the Grays Inn Road area, and well worth a visit! billymonk - 28 Mar 2010 02:00 |
Since it changed hands, this pub has been completely transformed. Friendly warm atmosphere, welcoming owner, great selection of drinks, and a well thought out menu, with good quality ingredients. Now one of the area's highlights. Can be manic on a Friday night, but service doesn't slip. Closed at weekends which is a shame, as there's a lack of good Sunday lunch pubs in the area. liamhamilton - 17 Jan 2010 19:23 |
