The only thing going for it is that it's the last pub in the vicinity still open. No real ale. dwparry - 26 Sep 2013 18:53 |
The Border Rose is a great little pub opposite Gorden Rigg Garden centre. It serves Great food at really reasonable prices. The large menu (on a chalk board) covers a wide range of delicious food with some great offers like 2 meals off the specials for 7.95. I had a Steak Suet pudding done in the traditional Lancashire style made by wrapping the meat in the suet and then tying it in cloth and steaming it. It was delicious with chips and mushy peas. There are some great meals on the Menu anything from a Snack like a baked potatoes with different fillings from 2.75, Hot Panini with a choice of filling from 3.50, Half Roast Chicken with chips and salad 6.50, Beef Casserole 5.95 to the 'Gut Buster' which at 19 is the most expensive but consists of an 8ox Rump steak, 12oz Gammon, 2 Pork Chops, 2 Lamb Chops, 2 Sausage, 2 Burgers, 2 Eggs, Onion Rings, Peas, Salad & Chips Like with all Pubs you order your food at the bar and pay for it, service was good and fast and the food delicious. It's well worth eating here if you are in the area. Balam - 5 Jan 2010 01:31 |
