This is my local Friday night haunt... Used to be good until they started charging for parking! Its not as if its in the middle of town or outside a station.. Why penalise the punters for a few inconsiderate motorists?? I'll be taking my custom to the Griffin from now on.. Trickyh - 15 Apr 2014 13:36 |
Called in here for the first time on Monday. It does look better inside than outside. Very pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately there was no Fosters and no Becks only one ale, one lager and Guinness on at the bar. The menu looks Ok and well priced. Staff were nice. rogerwin - 3 Nov 2011 17:50 |
Basically a restaurant. Has been revamped recently, although not terribly thoroughly. There was a bit of a hoohah when it re-opened and tried to limit the areas you could sit in without ordering food, but they did at least listen to feedback, and have loosened up on that. Serves a very good pint of Timothy Taylors on a regular basis, has a variable pint of Fullers London Pride and several other beers at any one time. myjlcr - 26 Sep 2011 14:28 |
I did go back and there has been a change (don't know if the management have changed or what it is, but things have improved). The beer range was more extensive than last time - there were 5 real ales available and the ones I had were in good nick at prices between 3.10 and 3.25 a pint. The staff were much more friendly and even quite chatty! However,I would suggest that it still needs monitoring so more comments please! mcroyal - 21 Aug 2011 16:53 |
Hadn't been here for a long time because it was a dump. Looked in again last weekend because they have had a revamp, it's cleaner but the atmosphere is still Zilch. If you want cheap beer but aren't fussy about the quality, live nearby and want to walk to the pub then this will do,,, just. If you want good beer, good service, some atmosphere and proper bar staff then go somewhere else. Go to the New Inn or the Pack Saddle. Dellup - 28 Jul 2011 13:28 |
