Rambling Victorian style freehouse with an emphasis on food. A range of standard real ales, could not complain about my London Pride although it was served too cold. Good range of food and my sandwiches were OK. Not much atmosphere and perhaps not really a locals pub, but alright. simontheeditor - 3 Aug 2013 21:39 |
Good range of beers with 4real ales to choose from with London Pride and Courage Best regulars. Sadly Doom Bar now served alongside guest ale which is often Bombardier. Pub aimed at middle aged male drinkers and very attractive barmaids of a similar age selected accordingly. A larger area caters for the food which is plentiful and of a good quality. Plentiful parking if meeting for a quick one or up for a session and leaving the car overnight. Far more convenient than the other Chislehurst boozers in that respect. Not the cheapest but then nowhere in Chislehurst is !! Certainly lots of choice in the area but then that competition is what drives the standards up. Has it's fair share of locals and regulars but you are never made unwelcome and indeed I have always found staff prompt to serve and friendly. FORGETYOGA - 3 Jun 2013 17:03 |
Visited for sunday lunch, busy with a good atmosphere, cheese on the bar and a good buzz about the place. Generous portions and nicely done food with well kept ales too. Restaurant section looks as if it gets busy, bar is cosy and staff friendly and attentive. razorbill - 22 Jan 2012 18:03 |
Went to the Sydney Arms yesterday. Quite quiet for a Bank holiday Monday. Lots of room to sit and plenty of dining areas. Nice atmosphere, staff were very friendly. I guess lots of business is from people walking in Scadbury Park. Food isn't great. Chips were cold and a bit overdone. Crusty bread was just 2 slices from a normal loaf and you had to search for the seafood in the seafood paella... Would go for a drink in future but not food... jen2877 - 26 May 2009 09:49 |
Wouldnt use this pub again - Andy the duty manager treats good customers appallingly - he has no time for them and has a cant be bothered attitiude - the food has also gone down hill - the chef just doesnt seem with it. The bar staff other than Andy are very welcoming however and are too good for this pub. If i was you go elsewhere. anonymous - 30 Jul 2007 11:31 |
