it should tick the boxes - retains separate bar and lounge, sells a few ales but didn't find it too welcoming. Ale was okay as opposed to good. Snarling_Mallard - 5 Aug 2017 14:00 |
Called in here last year while in Dukinfield visiting my daughter and family. I had passed it several times and it looked OK from the outside so I gave it a try. It was very busy with people enjoying a meal with their drink but I still managed to find a place to sit. There was a good choice of cask ales and those I tried were well kept. From the pump clips around the walls it looks like the beers are regularly changed and a wide variety has been on offer. The prices were good too but coming from London anywhere except Surrey looks cheap. paulfitzs - 20 Jan 2016 13:16 |
An oasis in a desert but this oasis is very very good. Cannot understand the low rating come on get yourselves here. T.Jones - 2 Aug 2015 14:20 |
Friendly welcome and service. A choice of four cask ales kept in excellent condition. I enjoyed a pale ale and a dark mild from Empire Brewery - superb! Comfortable pub with excellent sun-trap outside drinking area. All round a great community pub - a must visit. 10/10. wobblybob - 12 Jun 2015 08:27 |
First impressions of this pub are its nicely decorated and when I first went into the pub I was greeted to pleasant staff and nice beer but then the biggest downfall of all was to come ...the owner/manager!! The rudest most ignorant person I have ever seen. The way he spoke to his staff is disgusting and he didn't speak to some customers much better. As you walk into the pub plain to see is a notice stating what sort of clothing and behaviour wasn't acceptable basically setting the pub at this high of a standard yet he stood behind the bar with a filthy shirt and shoes eating a packet of crisps, practice what you preach is what I say!! Its not nice trying to enjoy a pint and having to listen to him speak to his staff with disrespect and turning down his nose at certain customers, who are putting money in his pocket. Overall I didn't have a bad experience but I wouldn't go back to this pub, such a shame because the pub is lovely and just missing a friendly owner/manager. honestyisbest - 3 Jun 2013 18:44 |
