A likeable small pub with a pleasant beer garden but devoid of customers on a hot summer evening despite everywhere else being busy so I assume for some reason The Lamb isn’t the pub of choice for the good people of Devizes wooser - 27 Jul 2024 21:49 |
The Lamb is in my opinion one of the best 3 pubs in Devizes. I'm undecided which one is the best. This place scores highly due to its wonderful, quirky interior. The single bar has plenty of wood panelling and furniture with a unique feature being a small peephole enabling punters to check out what is happening in the corridor outside. On this occasion, there seemed to be a minor disturbance involving somebody shouting the odds! The corridor itself through which you enter, leads to the toilets and an enclosed courtyard that appeared quite popular. Where the pub disappoints is that it is yet another Wadworth establishment with only their ales served - 6X, IPA, Swordfish & Misplaced Optimism. I opted for a cranberry juice as driving. £2.60! This would be the stand out pub in Devizes if it wasn't for the poor ale selection and the exorbitant prices. Customers are in the most part friendly. But the barmaid seemed a bit standoffish. blue_scrumpy - 10 Jul 2016 14:25 |
A gem of a pub - virtually unspoilt with original fittings and several little drinking areas. Outside seating at the rear and a pool room. We enjoyed Wadworth's IPAnema "world cup" beer which was light and refreshing and not too strong. Very much a locals pub although I suspect that many visitors will pop in to enjoy the interioir of this fine old pub. mcroyal - 2 Jul 2014 15:58 |
Great place, all a pub should be. Original old interior, friendly staff, full of regulars who are 'characters', great beers all kept well, and a good jukebox too. Full marks. Worgeorge - 25 Sep 2013 18:01 |
Lovely place. Three ales on, friendly staff and pleasant clientele. Very much enjoyed the visit here. Worth dropping in if you're visiting the town. DuchyBoy - 22 Aug 2013 09:20 |
