Great pub with good beer and food. Live music on Tuesday evenings and on Tuesday, 10th February 2015 there will be something rather special and different with Pond Life 'Classic Punk Riding on a New Wave'. While not too loud, this will not be an evening for sitting in corner pontification over your pint. It will be there to get up and join in. Certainly a night to remember. Visited for lunch recently, decent pub grub and a good range of beer that was in tasty condition. Also visited on a Tuesday evening for the live band. Again, good beer and a good band, with reasonable volume as well. I like this pub. tab - 6 Feb 2014 21:39 |
I visited this pub on Saturday night 1st December, the pub was packed and there was only two girls serving, I gave up and walked out after waiting 15 minutes to be served. I saw at least one other customer give up and leave while I was waiting. pompeyfatboy - 3 Dec 2012 21:01 |

Although the company i had went a great deal to making this a lovely evening, the George, I have to say, does a lot of things right. Good selection of ales- about 6, of the Fuddle di and the Ringwood that I sampled, I can say they were well-kept. The environment is cosy, but not cramped, and an ample bar at both side and rear even allowed sufficient space for the band to play- most pleasantly of all, the volume of the live band was kept at such a level that we could easily have a conversation- a most thoughtful landlord. Good views too if it were not for the rain. A GOOD pub. alezilla - 5 Jul 2011 23:19 |
