Can't comment about the prices as someone kindly bought me a pint. As for the ales, three of the usual Charles Wells suspects plus Razorback (Ringwood) and Wainwright. My pint of the latter was very good. Food looked decent and seemed to arrive pretty quickly. duchyjim - 25 May 2018 23:04 |
Very expensive pub, not just a "bit more". 5.95 for a pint of normal bitter and half a orange cordial and soda is not a "bit more". NIce surroundings and garden but just doesn't justify its prices. ppw - 14 Aug 2011 10:05 |
Hi to those who use this site for information about where you should and should not go. Myself (Andy) and my partner(Radka) took over the lease on the King William back in October after working for 2 1/2 years here and are slowly making changes for the better. We now have a new menu and wider drink range and are now upto 4 real ales ( 1 free of CharlesWells tie) and 4 lagers. we have a better local following giving the bar a bit more of a "pubby"feel. We are still pushing and being successful with the food side of things and we know we are a little bit more expensive but hopefully the surroundings and service warrant this. We are trying to cater for both markets and we hope you will not be put off by previous comments and give us a try we will look forward to seeing you. kingwilliamiv - 8 Aug 2010 11:32 |
Expensive pub with plenty of seating areas both inside and out. The theme seems to be an olde worlde French one but the beer selection was poor with only the locally eponymous Wells Eagle IPA and Bombardier available. blue_scrumpy - 10 Apr 2009 11:57 |
Not a bad pub. More of a restaurant in some ways but there is the bar area and a little room to the right. OK beer but very pricey for both food and beer (pub down road was 1.25 cheaper for exactly the same 2 drinks) ppw - 19 Feb 2008 14:39 |
