First Visit for a while. Had a pint of Batemans Bloomy Marvelous and it was lovely. Another Nicholsons pub which are usually a safe bet. TheHorsesMouth - 10 Mar 2009 15:13 |
Typical Nicholson's pub. Busy at street level, but worth looking downstairs if you want to sit down. OK pint of Thwaites Wainwright. rpadam - 15 Aug 2008 20:53 |

I've just got back from lunch there, and the food is awful. My sausages were microwaved to oblivion, so much so that I couldn't get my knife into them. When i complained, the member of staff just looked at me blankly, until we suggested that he might like to tell the manager. Who then didn't sort out my complaint, and our lunch hour was up so we had to leave. Plus, I asked for a Bloody Mary, and got a Merlot!!! Maybe it's a language barrier, as the majority of the staff are eastern european, but not good for a busy pub in the City. I work part-time in a pub, so am very conscious of customer service issues, and as said below, this pub needs to buck it's ideas up. Will only go back because it's so close to work.
