Visited on a sunny lunchtime and had beer and a burger in the pleasant garden. Inside the pub looks dark and gloomy. The pub seems attract business types and the menu and prices correspond. At lunchtime baguettes are £9-£11 and there are homemade burgers from £11 up. I had a buger and a hanful of chip: all quite tasty. I drank a fair pint of Altons Pride 3.8% at £4. My first four quid beer. Overpriced. 6speed - 17 Jul 2014 10:30 |
Since being introduced to the pub we have visited several times for the food. Not cheap but excellent selection with a game bias. Landlord likes to take you through the offerings personally and they will vary to suit if possible. Thoroughly recommended. beernut - 6 Mar 2012 22:06 |
Nice mix of customers, family running it put in alot of effort. Food is good but some glaring weak points. Got the bill for 2 people and was charged an un advertised 12.5% service charge even for the drinks we had at the bar. 85 for 2 good pub meals is too much wrinkley - 27 Mar 2011 22:00 |
Typical Hall and Woodhouse pub / eatery. Standard beers, standard food. The pub itself is exceptionally dark inside, which prevented the barstaff identifying the lipstick residue around the top of the glass. However, this complaint was rectified with the minimum of fuss by the very curtious and friendly staff. Worth another visit. arferjob - 30 Mar 2008 23:29 |
Been there twice and both times the food has been excellent,...... The pub is in a lovely location and has a great character to it,.... The staff are very friendly, especially the big guy behind the bar last time we went (guessing he was the landlord?), he was extremely polite and professional,..... will be back many times!!!! anonymous - 18 Jul 2007 10:48 |
