We went there on Saturday for lunch for my wifes birthday. We have used this pub quite a few times over the last three years or so and have always thought the food was quite good for the price although we did once have to complain and this was put right. However on Saturday the service was extremely SLOW. Our starter arrived within 15 minutes of ordering and that was quite nice. We then waited over 30 minutes for the main meal(chicken skewers) which when it arrived was luke warm , bland and tasteless. My daughter and son in law arrived after we had eaten for a drink and the glass that her ginger ale was served in was dirty, she went and complained about that and they could find a clean glass for her,so she asked for a straw and drank it out of the bottle. We will not be going back there again. Shame really as it was very close to where we live. Rex780 - 4 Jul 2011 08:26 |
We use to meet friends here regularly for a meal and at first it was a good place to eat, over time the service has slipped, and the food has gone from ok for the price to bad, we have often waited for 20minutes for our starter then to be told they had run out, they often got the orders wrong and when the food did eventually arrive the quality was poor, staff couldnt be bothered and we overheard other customers complaining too, we will not waste our money here again and have found a great pub with food further down the road. 28percy - 10 Mar 2011 16:07 |
An odd pub, this: through a lorry yard, next to a Premier Inn, built fairly recently from reclaimed materials. As an earlier poster noted, a pub by numbers. However it seems to work. The beer wasnt as interesting as on previous visits:Adnams, Youngs Special and Wells Bombardier, though the Adnams and Youngs were OK Good fish and chips, pleasant and efficient staff. Not sure if it was dog friendly, though I doubt it. 6/10 wittenden - 5 Jul 2009 22:43 |
My wife and I and two of our friends had a bloody good evening here, good food and good service. No complaints whatsoever. BigRobbo - 22 Jun 2008 16:30 |
