An attractive weatherboarded house in a sylvan setting with cheerful staff and a convivial atmosphere; Harvey's ales including the rare Dark Mild in good nick. Ten minutes' walk from Crowborough station. Recommended.

Difficult to find, but well worth it when you do! Very friendly landlord and locals. Lovely cosy feel to the pub and interesting layout. Food looked lovely and reasonably priced - unfortunately didnt have time to eat on this visit. Full range of Harveys in good condition.

Fantastic pub with Harveys range in excellent condition. Nice little garden, and a cosy feel to the whole place. I have to agree with SassyB though. The service was surly and downright grumpy, which is a shame. No excuse for it - let's hope they pull their socks up in this area.

Great location and pub has jovial atmosphere full of locals, but the bar service was extremely unfriendly. It seemed to be a great inconvenience for her to serve us, and not even an acknowledgement, much less a thank you when we returned our glasses to the bar upon leaving. I hear the pub has recently been taken over by new tenants, so hopefully they sort the appalling service out.

Country pub located down a lane that's a little difficult to find. Even some of the locals we spoke to admitted they had only just discovered it. On our early Saturday evening visit, the place was packed and the roaring fire made it feel really hot inside. Outside, parking was difficult. Harveys Best Bitter and Hadlow Bitter were definitely on. The Old Ale & Sussex XX Mild was also advertised. But we couldn't spot that. Friendly place and clearly very popular.
