Have visited this pub on numerous occasions and on each time I have had a fantastic meal. The food is all home cooked and very generous portions. The range of home made deserts are amazing, and include a "to die for" chocolate brownie. They offer a wide menu choice including traditional Roasts on a Sunday aswell.
The staff are very welcoming and efficient, without being too in your face. Well worth a visit!

Pleasant and welcoming atmosphere, and a choice of three real ales: 2 Fullers and 1 Gale's.

No atmosphere inside this pub. Nice garden but quite a walk through the carpark to get to it so food can be cold when it arrives. Mediocre food - sandwiches were the most pathetic I've had in a long time. Stale value bread, one slice of ham. Rubbish. Food inconsistent in general. Chef swears his head off and you can hear him effing and blinding from the garden. Could be so good, but isn't. This review is based on many visits as it is a local of ours and we wanted to give it a fair chance. On last occasion we went I got my food 20 minutes before my partner got his and when his came bits of it were burned. At one point they were offering take away cappucino and hot chocolate! A pub! What is the world coming to! The proprietors used to run The Badger on the Heath in Wroxton. They had it for 3 months before it flopped. That just about says it all. Shame. This could be a good pub but I'd advise people to go to the Joiners next door.

Came here because the "best pub in the village (The Elephant & Castle)" doesn't do food! I have to say the pub is very nice. Quite airy, nice layout. Trying to be a bit too poncey but not bad. Drinks are nice and not too badly priced. Food is very nice. Need to be a bit more generous on the veg side dish they give. It's not like veg costs much but I would like more than 12 peas (really, there were 12). Wide variety of food and it all looks good. Nice location. If this pub is full, there is always the Joiners Arms next door. May well come back. Staff were nice.

Once the best pub for miles, this is a sad shadow of its former self since the Fullers takeover. It now only serves a moderate London Pride where there used to be 5 or 6 beers some from Micro's. Often empty and suffers from a constant changeover of Landlords. Pitiful.
