well where should I start, the crown is a lovely country pub , that's if you knew it was there! Its set back off the road and the signage leaves a lot to be desired so only locals know of the pub and that is the main clientele. A nice bunch it seems in general mostly workers in the early eve, mostly an older middle class crowd with the token Scottish drunk with the big red nose who seems to be in quite a lot. Then you have the couples and the odd clique who seem to think there better than everyone else, some blonde woman and her very tall fat husband. The pub has so much potential going for it but the licensees give the impression that they don't really care, the landlord is a grumpy old git who never smiles not really sure why he is running a pub! there is no jukebox and you have to listen to the landlords music and no he doesn't do requests because Monday is jazz night etc if you get my drift. No young people drink in the pub as it has nothing to offer them which is sad in my opinion. The pub says home cooked food outside but there is no food on offer. Some nights you have to wait ages to get served as the landlady is outside having her fag and wont come in until she finishes it, or the landlord is never there always disappearing, the customer service leaves a lot to be desired its such a shame as someone who knows how to run a pub would do a good trade in there, roll on that time! The selection of drinks is small, the real ales are questionable and you frequently get served a bad pint which the landlord refuses to accept most times. No tea or coffee facilities that i know of. the pub is ok for a very quick pint and that's about all it has to offer. whistleblower1984 - 3 Jul 2015 14:11 |
A Fullers pub. 2 ales available: London Pride and Seafarers with a fine selection of bottled beers too. Friendly welcome from the landlord and a couple of locals. triumph - 22 Oct 2013 23:10 |

Good friendly pub with the full range of Fullers Brewery beers, (until one runs out!). I went there for the first time for the jazz on Sunday afternoon, and was made to feel very welcome. The range of meals on offer seemed to be small, but all cooked on the premises, so should be OK. jbsjazzer - 12 Nov 2007 16:39 |
Visit today revealed that this pub is under new management. Fullers London Pride & Chiswick in great condition, and dare I say, Landlord & Landlady far more congenial than the previous tenants. Lunchtime menu; evening meals in the pipeline. Being a small pub, The Crown has really benefitted from the smoking ban. Ale_Argonaut - 29 Aug 2007 17:16 |
