More of a restaurant than a pub. Food is OK but typical pub chain grub. Went there for dinner with my 13 year old grandson and was told that he would have to leave by 9.00 o'clock - so we did not even have enough time to finish our meal - definitely will not be returning. Bottled beer about 3.00 Beer fridge is an oven. Best go to Morrisons, find some bottled beer and hide it under the frozen food items, then read the autotrader in the magazine isle, then revisit the frozen food isle to dig up the chilled beer. Once past checkout go to car, open beers and turn radio on. Do not tune to Forest Fm its the same as Cheese FM in the Monmouth. Go to 1197mw Absolute Radio (former Virgin station). jolajosa - 11 Oct 2008 02:28 |

Sadly, it's just not the same old Monmouth. It's not packed in the way it always used to be - could be the smoking ban, there was always a few of those in the front corner - could be the 'new' landlord and his wife (who are very friendly but not so child friendly I suspect) but the food service is a bit on the slow side and the food quality is down slightly. Same range of beers/wines menu, just ambience is now lacking somewhat. rgb - 4 Dec 2007 11:08 |
