Pre-new owners I always stayed away from this place. The Sky Sports and lager drinking really didn't fit in with my taste. Last Friday I popped in with a mate to give it a go. What a revelation! The food was magnificent - we both had Aberdeen Angus burgers and washed them down with a variety of Badger ales. We even got table service a couple of times too. Heartily recommend this place and its a welcome contrast to the more up market Inn @ West End round the corner (which is where I usually go). Trampilot - 15 Aug 2011 13:34 |
This pub has recently (April 2011) had a face lift and has a new land lord - so ignore all the negative comments that were written before. It's now light and airy - they do really great pub food - and even breaksfast - starting at 8.00 a.m You're get a warm welcome local or not. If you're after a good honest pub - this is it. I Have a friend who lives close to this pub and have been there more than 5 times now, it has a good atmosphere for drinking, but i wouldn't spend a weekend evening here as the pub can empty very quickly and be dead by 9PM. It is very much a locals pub with same the faces around all the time, which is great if you like them, it has poor selection of lagers but a good selection of Ales it is very pricey but the bar staff are friendly, more so than the landlord. all in all a good local but nothing more. zeeco - 23 Dec 2009 18:46 |
Had a brief visit here one afternoon. Staff quite friendly and a reasonably nice interior. Had a pint of Sussex Brewery at 3.05. Also had a couple of other Badger ales on tap. They have a large screen TV for Sky Sports etc but also agree with other comments that I too got the impression that this is a locals pub. This isn't a bad boozer by any means and OK for a swift pint if you're passing by but that's about it. 7/10. wezmiester - 19 Oct 2009 11:28 |
Dont bother. Useless place. Food ? cant even be bothered half the time. Landlord/lady most defenitly on the wrong side of the bar most of the time Vivienne01 - 9 Jun 2009 11:43 |
