Popped in early on a warm Thursday in July to check the cricket & wet the whistle. Both accomplished satisfactorily; Greene King IPA @ 2.75 was both reasonably priced & refreshing, and there were many televisions to choose from. Bar person was friendly & efficient. Currently has a 'real ale festival' on until May 7th, but that only entailed 3 beers - Lost Dene Bitter (Courage Best); Deuchars IPA and Marstons 'Me Duck', all at 2.50/pt. The latter was good, the Deuchars a little green. Loads of TV's with the football on, but the sound was from the 3D commentary in the back (glasses 2 deposit), and frustratingly 1.5 seconds ahead of the action on most of the TV's. Staff were pretty good. oftenscore6 - 16 Apr 2012 01:17 |

Initial impressions seemed good, with around 4 cask ales available and a good value but basic food menu available. However, the food taking 45 minutes to arrive (for simple choices - one fish and chips and one pie and chips) somewhat puts me off a further visit. alexw - 13 May 2011 18:46 |
