your a nice person 'insekt'!!!! i think this pub is very well run,and has a real friendly atmosphere the staff are really nice and helpful iv been there so many times and im not a local, the food is gorgoeous, and they have such a variety, ranging from bar snacks, traditional pub fair, bar tapas, ealy bird 2 course meal, and alacarte, i would definatly recommend it numbers123 - 2 Jan 2008 10:58 |
Looks awful from the outside, and while it does get better inside, it has an claustrophobic feel to it. Food in the restaurant is overpriced and average. Bar food isn't much better, although is slightly better value (but we're splitting hairs here, it' still not very good). Usual range of Everards ales, reasonably kept. Bar staff range from dour to faintly friendly. A locals place, really. insekt - 27 Nov 2006 22:02 |
Hmm. If you fancy waiting 1hr 30 minutes for your food, to no avail, and then being asked to pay for the overpriced beer you purchased so long ago you had forgotten about it, then this is the place! anonymous - 26 Mar 2006 00:27 |
Re the quote from Holly :- Jackson is the surname of the family that used to run this pub when I was in the area. In gerneral I agree:- For a pub, the food was always good. Service was acceptable too. Nice customers (on the whole) but can be a bit cliquey. Decor and building is not particularly charming, but the pub makes up for it in other ways. I seem to remember the beer was quite good too. Mark2005 - 13 Jan 2006 15:32 |
