I remember this pub years ago when i was a youngster in the 60' s ....also the lovely resident dog there Bonzo who used to come on his own to visit our house.......have still got a photo of him. chardy, i gather he was your dog....very happy memories for me...we moved away to kent in 1969...... aliray13 - 7 Sep 2014 18:02 |
Amazing that a site burnt out so many years ago and now demolished and resurrected as a block of flats can still be listed when it comes to 'Beer in the Evening'! pub_aficianado - 13 Oct 2011 21:53 |
This was the pub where Francis Rossi, Rick Parfitt and co first performed as 'The Status Quo' [sic.] Another bit of history gone... yehia.tawfik - 25 Oct 2009 23:25 |

Oh no! My parents Bill & Joan Hardy started to run this pub in the 60's and I lived there with my brother John until we moved to West Sussex in 1971. I did visit to take a 'trip down memory lane' about 10 years ago and was sad to see how much it had changed.I had a very happy childhood growing up in that pub it is such a shame to read about it's demise.
