Disappointing - dropped in on way to Red Lion from farmers' market and would not go again. Beer selection was dismal as was the atmosphere. Has great potential and was clealry an excellent pub in the past but not now. ericonabike - 26 Jan 2009 14:33 |
The Dixie has undergone yet another refurbishment and I have to say it is quite stylish and modern yet it still feels cosy. The bar has been split into a basic wooden floored bar with wooden seats and tables plus a lovely open fire and a cosy lounge area with soft seats. The best thing for me is that the wide screen tv has gone and so has the pool table, the emphasis is back to conversation which is what a pub is for. The only downside for me is the beer range - I can't stand Marstons and that's all there is! If you like Pedigree then I suppose this will suit you. ranger1485 - 26 Apr 2008 06:53 |
Lively, popular pub smack bang in the centre of Bosworth. Split into 2 halves with the 'inkiddy' juke box & pool table crowd in one side & a newly renovated, quieter, classier lounge bar recently given its own idenity of 'Willowby's' in the other. Some good ales always present - Timothy Taylor Landlord & Everards Sleighbell were on over Christmas. Staff were pleasant & the place is always brimming on a weekend or public holiday. Well worth a stop-in on a Bosworth crawl. young_camra_collectiv - 29 Dec 2005 16:05 |
